Auckland Airport INTB Phase 3

This project is Phase 3 of a multi stage redevelopment of the existing International Terminal building. It involves construction of new outbound passenger processing areas, and major expansion and refurbishment of the duty free retail shopping areas. The project requires both landside and airside works in an operational airport and business continuity and security are of paramount importance.

The mechanical services strategy is a combination of new and modified plant serving the areas affected by the Level 1 development of the processor and retail expansion. The work is staged and includes demolition of existing systems, two new large air handling plantrooms, variable air volume, fan coil unit, and direct expansion air-conditioning systems, chilled and heating water pipework, BMS control, process cooling for data rooms as well as smoke exhaust and ducted ventilation systems.

Essential to the success of this project is the detailed planning and work methodologies around the staging of the works to ensure that normal business operation is not interrupted.
