Mechanical Pipe Fitter Supervisor  – Wellington Based

Our Central North Island Office is looking for a Mechanical Pipe Fitter - SUPERVISOR with prior experience in copper and steel to join our existing team to work on commercial and industrial sites around the greater Wellington region. This is a permanent role for the successful candidate and would suit an already experienced person or if you are looking to step up to the next level.

Candidates need to be locally based, legally able to work in New Zealand, have trade experience or be qualified, have a good understanding of building services related to mechanical systems and plant, understand shop drawings and be able to provide their own hand tools (we provide power tools). They must be extremely safety aware for both themselves and others, plus be prepared to contribute to continued growth in this area. HVAC Mechanical Installer - Palmerston North

Quantity Surveyor – Wellington Based

Aquaheat NZ Ltd -  if you're passionate about delivering one of the more technical trades in large commercial projects, with your scope reaching from plumbing to HVAC. You will cover everything from take-offs, pricing, trade procurement, and contract administration of a wide variety of projects with packages valued up to $20M+. Working for a wide variety of clients, from main contractors delivering new builds and refits, through to maintenance work for long-standing clients, this will expose you to a variety and challenges on a daily basis.

Due to the specialist work this team produces, we're looking either for someone who is already a Quantity Surveyor looking to make a change to a specialist trade ,OR prior experience in a management role in the Mechanical or Plumbing trade and looking to move into Quantity Surveying or Estimating. For the right trade experience, training can be provided.

Sprinkler Fitter/Trade Assistant – Manawatu/Taranaki Based

Aquaheat NZ Ltd - Fire Protection is a well-known company with over 60 years experience in the fire protection industry. The company covers all aspects of fire protection including fire system design, installation, and ongoing testing and maintenance of fire systems. Due to the company's continued growth, we currently have a vacancy for a Sprinkler Fitter/Trade Assistant based in the Manawatu/Taranaki region. This is a permanent full-time position and would suit an already experienced Sprinkler Fitter looking to step up to the next level. 

The prerequisites for this role are:

  • You will be a practical person and be willing to learn about the Fire Protection industry.
  • Listening to instructions and taking directions is a must, we will train and offer guidance, but you must want to learn.
  • You work well without supervision and possess excellent time management skills.
  • A current full driver's license is required.
  • A good level of fitness as some heavy lifting is required.

Roofer - Specialising in Architectural Roof/Wall Cladding – Wellington Based

Classic Metal Roofing, a division of Aquaheat NZ Ltd (Wellington Branch is looking for an experienced roofer specializing in Architectural/European style metal roof and wall cladding techniques.

Classic Metal manufacture and install traditional and European style metal roof and façade systems in the greater Wellington area. The work is varied and often uses premium materials such as copper and zinc. This is a permanent role for the successful candidate.

Candidates need to be locally based and legally able to work in New Zealand. They need to have previous experience in Standing Seam, Flat Lock, and other European style roofing and cladding systems, with the ability to measure, fabricate and install. They must have a positive attitude to work and new challenges, with a can-do attitude, and able to demonstrate pride in their workmanship, as well as be extremely safety aware for both themselves and others.

Senior Fire Alarm Technician – Wellington Based

Aquaheat NZ Ltd - Fire Protection is a well-known company with over 60 years experience in the fire protection industry. The company covers all aspects of fire protection including fire system design, installation, and ongoing testing and maintenance of fire systems. Due to the company's continued growth, we currently have a vacancy for a Senior Fire Alarm Technician based in the Manawatu/ Whanganui. This is a permanent full-time position and would suit an already experienced Fire Alarm Technician looking to step up to the next level. 

About the Role:

You will undertake the installation and maintenance of “high-end” fire detection and alarm systems in a wide variety of applications. This will include all aspects of the installation process including design, installation, programming, and commissioning. Whilst generally a hands-on role, you will also assist the Fire Alarm Manager with the day-to-day running of Fire Alarm Installation and Upgrade projects in the Manawatu / Whanganui region.

The person we seek will have the following skills and experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the Fire Protection industry.
  • Fire alarm installation skills on both addressable and conventional systems, including programming.
  • Fire alarm service and repair experience.
  • Good planning and time management.
  • The ability to interpret drawings, monitor and record progress, and identify potential issues.
  • Sound knowledge of NZ Fire Alarm Standards, Building Codes, and Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A good understanding of your obligations with regards to Health & Safety.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • NZQA Level 4 Fire Detection and Alarms Systems certificate would be advantageous.
